Learning how to run

As an accredited running coach through Athletics Australia, I can set you up to meet your running goals – from learning to run, running your first fun run, through to running ultra marathons.  

 

I taught myself to run just eight years ago when my first baby was 8 months old. I was keen to get out and learn to do something way out of my comfort zone. I joined a local gym and trained for my first half marathon on my own, at night, once I had put the baby to sleep. I slowly began to venture outside and trained in Centennial Park and my local park, Sydney Park.  

 

After moving from the city to South West Sydney 5 years ago, I joined local running groups, made fabulous friends and became super fit. I was at my fittest when I got pregnant with my second child, who has just turned one. I was really proud that I managed to continue my running up until 29 weeks of my pregnancy (under my doctor's supervision), when it became too uncomfortable. Now a mum to two boys, an 8 year old and a one year old, I have trained and completed a 10km fun run, as well my 11th half marathon post baby. I am training for my 10km goal race in July, my 12th and 13th half marathon races in September and October and have big running plans  next year that I'm very excited about.

If you would like to start running but don't know where to get started or you have completed a few events on your own and would like to achieve your next goal with a running coach, I can help.  

My training plans are customised just for you. I will create a step-by-step plan that incorporates your non-running regular exercise and strength workouts. I know you’re busy and still want a life, so I will incorporate planned holidays, work travel and special events to ensure your plan is realistic and achievable.

I can create a training program based on the following options or create another solution that will work for you. All plans will include weekly monitoring of your program and discussion via your preferred communication method (for example, SMS, phone, Messenger). 

  • monthly online training program 

  • 12 week training program

  • 12 week training and nutrition program

  • 16 week training program (most common when training for events)

  • 16 week training and nutrition program
